Soulver App Reviews

In my job, I find I often need to work with the same equation repeatedly, but changing variables over time. A “normal” calculator is not well-suited to this task - and excel is overkill, as well as being a hassle to use on my iPad mini or iPhone. So Solver has solved my problem! My only complaint is that sync between my iPhone, iPad and Mac is occasionally slow - but frankly I have that issue with any app that I use that relies on iCloud (so probably an Apple issue rather than one specific to this app).

One of my favorite and most useful apps!

This has become my go-to app for doing calculations, scratchpad. It works reasonably well, and the crucial thing is that the iCloud saving works well across all my devices: iPhone, iPad, and Mac (using the Soulver for Mac app) - and thats just super convenient and really useful.

The Mac version of this app allows access to financial stock values. The IOS version does not. If you use the Mac version and need this functionality, do not buy this app.

Execution on this app is phenomenal! If youre looking for a great tool to replace the a spreadsheet for small tasks, then look no further. I do have one critique... **Minor Issue: The Icon** (This is for the developers; the icon shouldnt discourage anyone from buying this amazing app.) When I was reading reviews for this app I noticed other complaints about the icon and thought the reviewers were being too nit-picky. However, after having the app for a couple months, and including it on my home screen, I see the problem. When I reach for my phone and need to use this app my brain is looking for a calculator and is trained to look for an icon that looks like a calculator. I always skip over the Soulver app, often swiping around to try to find it until finally my brain catches up and remembers the Soulver icon. This happens even though I use it daily to help my kids with homework and for myself at the office. Sometimes Ill find myself using the iOS calculator without thinking and then Im like "ach! Why am I using this stupid thing? I have Soulver!" Im not saying the icon should be the typical grid of +/-/x/=, but it should be something that looks "calculatoy", or maybe even something like the Soulver interface itself. Anywho, just my 2¢. Amazing work, love this app.

My favorite calculator for both iOS and OS X. Wish the iOS icon would receive some love, though... Something to better convey the apps purpose. The iPad Pro keyboard could use some polish, too, but I appreciate the compatibility.

Perfect for dimensional analysis because you can type in both values and units - for example, 25 meters/seconds * 3 minutes * 60 seconds/minutes Great for calculating total number of samples in an experiment - for example, Levels of temerature: 3 Levels of salinity: 2 Replicates: 8 Line1 * line2 * line3 Syncs saved files among iPhone, iPad and Mac - which is great when you have some formulae that you frequently have to use.

Amateur programmer. This app is a LIFE SAVER. Couldnt imagine not having it now.
